Is Europe Disintigrating? This question of Timothy Garton Ash ( link above ) in the Headline of his review of several books with the special focus on Europe is heard more often. Is the idea of Europe and its political realisation in crisis? You can answer this question with a distinct yes. You can notice the increase of populism everywhere, national interests outweigh common interests. In this regard the transition to a integrated Europe is in danger. Is this time to hoist the “ White Flagg “ accepting this trend?
Certainly not. At first: In the times of Globalization it is an imperative, not only for economic reasons to remain competitive. In concurrence to the other parts of the world we need a combined performance. If not? The danger to be left behind by other international heavyweignts of finance, trade, production, science and so on ( e.G. USA, China ( Asia ) is too great. Not to mention the meaning of adjustment of european laws and culture that are worth to be a paradigm for the world. So let us start again to convince the sceptics of a “ United Europe “.
Raise the flagg of Europe. Out of many we are one
